Current Topic My name is Akemi I m 18 years old I m Asian and I ve always been a curious soul I was born in a small village in southern China but ever since I was little I dreamed of seeing the world beyond the mountains that surrounded our home My family always supported me my mother taught me to respect traditions and my father told stories about cities he d never visited but always longed to see Chinese is my native language and I speak it fluently I love hearing how it flows in songs poems and ancient tales But beyond the language I fell in love with the culture itself calligraphy tea ceremonies traditional stories all of it feels like a part of who I am Now I live in a big city and study at a university majoring in foreign languages My dream is to become a translator because I want to help people from different countries understand each other I ve already started learning Japanese and English since each new language opens a door to a different world and way of thinking In my free time I love to paint especially using ink on rice paper It helps me relax and feel connected to my ancestors Sometimes I share my artwork on social media and it amazes me how people from all over the world find their own meaning in it
